Schema Markup Generator
Build valid JSON-LD structured data for ten common schema types.
Structured data without hand-writing JSON
Search engines read schema to understand a page: what it is, who made it, what it costs, when it happens. Writing valid JSON-LD by hand is slow and easy to get subtly wrong.
Pick a type, fill in the fields, and copy the result. The generator validates required fields and produces clean JSON-LD.
How to generate schema markup
- Choose the schema type that matches the page.
- Fill in the fields. Required fields are marked.
- Add repeatable items such as FAQs, steps or products where the type supports them.
- Copy the JSON-LD or download it as a .json file.
The types included
- Article for news, blog posts and guides.
- FAQPage for a page of questions and answers.
- HowTo for step-by-step instructions.
- LocalBusiness for a physical business with an address.
- Organization for a company or brand.
- Product for a product page with price and availability.
- Recipe for ingredients, instructions and cooking times.
- Event for a dated event with a location.
- BreadcrumbList for the page’s position in the site.
- WebSite for site-level information and search action.
Rules that keep you out of trouble
Only mark up what is visible. If the price is not on the page, do not put it in the schema. Hidden or misleading markup is a manual action risk.
Use absolute URLs. Relative links are ignored or misread. Every URL and image should include https:// and the domain.
Keep dates in ISO format. 2026-11-03 is unambiguous. 03/11/26 is not.
Do not invent ratings. Review and rating markup without genuine reviews is one of the most common causes of penalties.
Test after publishing. Use the Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator on the live URL, not just the copied snippet.
Where it fits
Schema is one layer of technical SEO. The Meta Tag Generator handles titles and social previews, the Robots.txt Generator controls crawling, and the UULE Generator helps you check local results.
Frequently asked
What is schema markup?
Schema markup is structured data added to a page so search engines can understand what the page is about. It is written as JSON-LD and placed in the head or body of the HTML.
Does schema guarantee rich results?
No. It makes a page eligible. Google decides whether to show a rich result based on the content and its quality guidelines.
Where do I put the JSON-LD?
Inside a script tag with type application/ld+json, usually in the head. It can also be added through a plugin or tag manager.
Which type should I choose?
Match the page. An article page uses Article, a product page uses Product, a local business homepage uses LocalBusiness. Do not mark up content that is not visible on the page.
Can I use more than one type on a page?
Yes. A page can carry several blocks, for example Article plus BreadcrumbList. Keep each block accurate and avoid duplicating the same entity.
